3D PRINTERS

We currently have two printers. They are both free to use for members, both currently come with free Make Salt Lake provided plastic. One is a hobbyist printer that can be tinkered with and modified. The other is a seemecnc.com Orion Delta print. The remainder of this is about that printer.

The Make Salt Lake community pooled together to purchase a prebuilt, and preconfigured Delta printer that’d be both sturdy, and reliable. If you don’t already know, 3D printers generally require lots of tinkering and maintenance, but, with Orion, we believe we have a very good solution that will work reliably even for beginners. The printer is free to use,and the Make Salt Lake administrataion is providing plastic free of charge for members. You do not currently certification to use the printer BUT you must follow rules to insure that the printer is usable for the next person who uses after you.

To make 3D printing more approachable, we are providing tested filament, tested print settings, in addition to educational videos on how to use the provided materials with the 3d printer to achieve good results. The links below should get you started.
